New Life to an Old Dresser

To be completely honest, summer is my least favorite season. It's miserably hot and humid here on the gulf and every summer of my college career until this summer I took summer school. This year I decided it was time to catch up on things that were well overdue. I took the summer off from school so I could spend time with friends and family (and some me time). So far I have organized the house and have finally gotten around to decorating our bedroom. It seems like that's always the room to get decorated because it is the least likely to be seen by guests. Never-the-less, I have been dreaming up finishing the room and giving the hubs and I a relaxing little nook to hide away in.

This dresser has been in my family since the 20s. It originally was a nursery dresser and had a wooden cutout of bunnies on the door. I love that it is a family heirloom and the art-deco detailing on the feet. This dresser was perfect for our first project together.
We stripped the dresser down to the wood and applied two coats of primer.
We painted the dresser dark gray.
New hardware added sophistication to the old nursery dresser.

Sorry about the poor picture quality. These were all taken by me. The dresser was step one to a personal and dreamy bedroom makeover. More to follow soon but for now I'm off to enjoy the summer.
